The government of Styria has initiated the RIST platform – Regional Internationalisation of Styria – supporting about 400 export oriented companies in their internationalisation efforts.
Main Part of this strategy is the development of “future regions” where the Styrian government is employing key accounters for market survey, pro¬ject identification and contact management.
Within the RIST-framework, a database of identi¬fied projects was established. BLUEWATERS has identified more than 210 projects in the Vojvodina which are suitable to be financed and performed by Styrian companies. This database, including con¬tact management with the stakeholders of these projects serves Styrian enterprises as an acquisition tool.
The main work packages of the project are:
- Organisation of B – to – B – events
- Preparation of a cooperation agreement on the political level, between the Serbian province of Vojvodina and the Austrian province of Styria
- Building a project database, delivering the key information to the potential joint venture partners in Styria
- Building a CRM-database
Most projects in the database focus on envi¬ronmental infrastructure for municipalities, in the fields of waste management, waste water treat¬ment, drinking water supply, public lighting, renewable energy projects, gasification of mu¬nicipalities, privatisation of enterprises in all sectors, geothermal projects, regional develop¬ment and capacity building for public and private institutions.
Integral part of the Styrian activities in Vojvodina is the development of a business academy in Novi Sad, together with the University for Economics in Novi Sad, started in 2003.
RIST - Regional Internationalisation Strategy of Styria has been initiated by the economic department of the government of Styria, aiming at supporting Styrian entrepreneurs to enter the market in defined target regions. Main objective is the identification and realisation of projects together with partners in the future region and to intensify economic cooperation in general.
